I love the concept of a photographer hiding in the shadows catching one of your most intimate moments…entirely too creepy an opening. Let me clarify, when A and I got engaged the only person that witnessed it was the drunk guy walking by because it happened to be “Thirsty Thursday” on a college campus. As special as that was, I would have loved to have the actual moment of our proposal captured on film.

There is now a trend towards hiring a photographer to hide while your (soon-to-be) fiancé pops the question capturing every moment of the proposal. Here are a few gems:

The umbrella that’s been strewn behind her upside down just shows how real of a moment this was. This snowy proposal is very sweet too.

Is this not the best surprise face you’ve ever seen? This is precisely why you would want the hidden photographer!

I do love an original and personality filled styled engagement shoot, but nothing can compare to these authentic and pure images you see of the actual moment when you say “yes.” I would love to see some of these pictures along with a save-the-date as opposed to the typical “She said yes” signs, real is always better.
